So its been a long time coming this update as I have been doing other things which have distracted me from finishing the stitching. Now it is finish it will be taken out of the stitching frame and be framed properly ready to give to the person its for. So without further ado last 3 photos:

Braided Bracelet
So after finally figuring out the instructions and pictures for making the braided bracelets, I made my first attempt, using 1mm leather cord. Not a bad attempt overall although I did muck up the first part of the braid.

As you can see it doesn't look too bad. However when it came to finishing off the braid and glueing down the ends it went a tad wrong, I glued it on the wrong side - the front and not the inside, woops. You can see the boo-boo (and the not so good attempt at glueing the ends down)in the next photo with the clasp attached which I have now salvaged for the next one as long as that one works that is.

After my mishap I decided to try it with slightly thicker 2mm cord in different colours:

If your wondering what the orange clip is that you can just about see its a keyring clip I have hung off a pin on the wall with the braid clipped in so that it holds the braid vertically and flat against the wall for me.

Bracelets
So I decided to try making some different bracelets to what I already have made previously.
Previous bracelets have been made with memory wire, seed beads, drawbench ('oily') beads, glass pearly beads and cats eye beads:

This time I took inspiration from the European charm style bracelets and came up with this:

Potential new idea
After getting my new craft catalogue and having a good long browse I stumbled upon this idea in the jewellery making section:
I don't think I am going to use the exact clasp they recommend based on the price of it. It is sterling silver but still a tad out of the price range I want to stick within.
They do have some nice sliver plated clasps which I could use like:

They also have more than one shade of dyed leather cord or metallic leather cord, although I am tempted to just try one colour first see how it turns out then maybe get more colours:

Before I forget I have linked every image to the webpage I got it from :)

Newish Project - Winnie Stitch
I say newish because it is and it isn't. I originally started this project with the intention of giving to someone who had just had a baby and lost the drive to finish it after just a few small sections. I still intend on finishing it however a different person to the original.
I'm not going to post a photo of what the finished cross stitch should look like so you can just see and enjoy how it evolves from a few coloured stitches to the full design. I will continue to post with more photos for this however they will be dotted between other posts.

For those of you who know me will know I love to do artsy crafty things such as make cards, cross stitching, glass painting and most recently making jewellery, pretty much anything crafty and I may well have tried it.
Basically this blog is to document my projects whatever they may be. ^^
